Earth Puzzle Club's Special Event for "World Earth Day": A Creative Workshop on Crafting Chinese-Style Coffee Grounds Aromatherapy
April 20, 2025,In the lead-up to World Earth Day 2025, the Earth Puzzle Sustainable Development Society has partnered with Gergrapher Coffee to launch "A Cup of Fragrance," a creative experiential event that harmoniously integrates the principles of sustainable regeneration with the essence of traditional Chinese aesthetics.
The initiative repurposes coffee grounds typically discarded in daily life. These grounds are naturally dried and then blended with essential oils to craft hand-made aromatherapy products that evoke warmth and tranquility. Subsequently, the aromatic blends are placed into tea bowls and cups that reflect an oriental aesthetic—each vessel and each fragrance embodying the scent of time while elevating the poetic essence of everyday life.
Step 1: Knowledge Foundation – Exploring the Regeneration Potential of Coffee Grounds
Zoey Wang, founder of Earth Puzzle, presented the sustainable value of coffee grounds, illustrating how discarded coffee waste can be creatively repurposed into warm and natural aromatherapy materials, thereby contributing to an environmentally conscious lifestyle.
Step 2: Utensil Selection – Discover Your Personal Tea Cup
A selection of oriental-style tea bowls and cups will be available on site. Each participant will choose a small, complementary item to accompany the "lingering fragrance" they have personally created.
Step 3: Color Conception · Develop a Distinctive Visual Style
Select the preferred natural plants for decorative purposes and carefully curate color combinations to ensure each design is unique, embodying both textural richness and emotional warmth.
Step 4: Aromatherapy Creation — Let creativity guide the handmade process.
Under the guidance of an EarthPuzzle instructor, participants personally mixed aromatic essences and colors, blended coffee grounds, and decorated the tea cups with natural elements, thereby infusing them with a fragrant essence and transforming "waste" into "new life."
